GUEST SPEAKER
7:00 - 8:30
DECEMBER 29, 2004
DWAYNE
YARBROUGH
SENIOR
LAW EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR
OFFICE
OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL
Dwayne will be speaking in the Wednesday evening session, 7:00-8:30 PM. His topic: Smart Choices, Better Chances.
Interestingly, after I had scheduled him to speak, I learned that he went to school and graduated with Michael Eubanks and Dwayne’s brother was the percussionist in Michael’s most recent concert at the local Hilton Inn. Small world, isn’t it?
WHO
IS HE?
Dwayne Yarbrough is the Senior Law Education Instructor for Arkansas Attorney General, Mike Beebe. Dwayne has been with the Attorney General’s Office for nearly a decade. He was raised in Little Rock and attended Little Rock public schools. He is a proud graduate of Little Rock Central High School. Dwayne completed his undergraduate education at Arkansas Tech University earning a B.A. in Communications/Journalism. As a program lecturer, he has spoken at numerous violence prevention, gang awareness and drug education conferences, in and out of State. He has 2 children: a son (Brandon) and a daughter (Brianna). He currently lives in Jacksonville, Arkansas.
WHAT
WILL HE BE TEACHING?
Dwayne Yarbrough will present a summary of the law education program “Smart Choices, Better Chances,” sponsored through Attorney General Mike Beebe’s Office. “Smart Choices, Better Chances” is a law summary of juvenile law and related issues relevant to Arkansas statutes. Juvenile responsibilities will be highlighted with information on specific criminal laws and punishments in addition to general education about this State’s justice system. This is one of the prevention and education measures Attorney General Beebe is using in the battle against juvenile crime in our State.
