SEYC LEADERSHIP CAMP
March 5-6, 2005
Departing LR on the 4th
Returning on the 6th
SEYC LC is a leadership camp for teens and college/career young people whose desire it is to allow Christ to make a difference in their lives. This is not a "y'all come" camp. It is not designed to waste camp staff's time dealing with campers who have not yet made up their minds whether they are going to live for Christ or not. Please, do not get on the bus in Little Rock if you are not committed to live for Christ.
Those traveling with us from Little Rock ARE permitted to take their CD players, MP3 players, CD's and MP3's. Do not take radios or TV's.
It is assumed that all of those traveling with us from Little Rock understand that the following items are banned from your possession while traveling to and from Birmingham:
CD's containing vulgar language (by Dr. Jim's definition)
MP3's containing vulgar language (by Dr. Jim's definition)
pornographic material of any sort (by Dr. Jim's definition)
any type of tobacco products
any form of drugs or drug paraphernalia
alcohol products
Do not make the mistake of trying to con the system by rationalizing away any of the banned items listed above if found in your possession.
Here's the rule for those traveling with us from Little Rock: If you are found with any of the above banned items in your possession at any time on the trip, you will be required to immediately turn those items over to Dr. Jim who will turn them over to your parents upon arrival back in Little Rock. Remember this: teenagers in possession of pornographic material, tobacco products, any form of drugs or drug paraphernalia, or alcohol products either are or may be breaking the law.
ARE YOU READY TO GO?
Great!! I knew you were. I love you and trust you, and the rules have been established.
You can download the SEYC LC application by clicking on SEYC LC 2005 Application here or below.
If you are aged 13 through college or career you can apply NOW. Dr. Jim will take the first 20 applicants to Birmingham with him. Why 20? While our youth bus will seat 25, we will need room for luggage. Remember, it's the first 20 who get on the bus. Numbers 21 and on will be required to find their own transportation.
If you are from the BDCLR or are a friend of the BDCLR and intend to ride to Birmingham with us on our youth bus, you must return your completed application to Dr. Jim with a check made payable to "SEYC" attached to your application.
The bus will depart Little Rock from the BDCLR church parking lot at 8:00 AM on March 4, 2005. This means that all campers enrolled in school must absent themselves from school on Friday, March 4, 2005.
Are you planning on going with us just to get out of school on Friday? WRONG MOTIVATION!! If you are not willing to live for Christ, there is no need to apply. For those who want to attend and want to live for Christ, it just so happens that you will be required to miss school on that Friday.
Those traveling with us will depart Camp Hargis, in Birmingham, immediately after the conclusion of the schedule on Sunday (approximately 12 noon). It's about an 8 hour trip to and from Birmingham. Don't rush us to return just for your sake. We'll travel on a schedule. Know the schedule and make plans accordingly.
The entire camp schedule is posted below (scroll down to schedule).
If you have any questions, call Dr. Jim at 501-851-1101 or e-mail him at brettell@brettell.org.
As soon as I receive your application and check, I will post your name below.
Resting in Him,
Dr. Jim
